Blackberry 8320 Price-Blackberry 8320 Review

The BlackBerry 8320 is little more than a different flavor of the popular 8300 and Research In Motion has done little else than simply add Wi-Fi to an already feature rich Smartphone. The device is for a change not business-oriented and has enough consumer appeal to make it a good buy for anyone interested in a BlackBerry.

One of the high points of the original BlackBerry Curve was the phone’s design and luckily RIM hasn’t attempted to change it. The BlackBerry 8320 still measures 4.2×2.4×0.6inches and features the same 2.5 inch screen that displays 65,000 colours at 320×240 pixels. The screen also has light sensing technology that auto-adjusts the brightness based on lighting conditions. The phone is ergonomically sound both in design and in the keyboard which is a full QWERTY type. The other standard BlackBerry buttons such as the Escape key, trackball navigator etc. are all here and make navigating menus a breeze.

The biggest change here is the addition of Wi-Fi and the BlackBerry 8320 features 802.11 b/g support. It’s easy to connect to any local access point and getting online is a breeze. Bluetooth is also available and supports all types of Bluetooth functions including file transfers. If you aren’t near an access point you can always browse the net through EDGE (Enhanced GPRS) and while speeds are expectedly low, they aren’t too bad. The BlackBerry 8320’s specifications also include a speakerphone and it has noise cancellation technology. The camera is decent as is the media player but with just 64 MB of memory onboard you’ll surely need a microSD card to store images, video and music. The BlackBerry 8320 is completely proficient in the e-mail department and can sync your phone with 10 of your e-mail addresses with the push e-mail feature. The attachment viewer and the spell check are nifty and good additions to an already strong suit of features. The battery life is good giving 4hrs of talk-time and 17days on standby.

The BlackBerry 8320 is available at both Vodafone and Airtel in India for a price of Rs. 19,999. All in all, the BlackBerry 8320 is the best of the other BlackBerry Curve mobile phones with its Wi-Fi support that makes it stand out as the best buy if you’re looking for a Smartphone that can keep you connected anywhere, anytime.
