Blackberry BOLD 9000 Price-Blackberry BOLD 9000 Review

Launched in August 2008, The BlackBerry Bold 9000 is Research In Motion (RIM)’s newest Smartphone. It boasts some impressive new features while still maintaining BlackBerry’s trademark business and e-mail applications. A much better multimedia interface helps not only executives but consumers also relate to the BlackBerry 9000.

Upon first glance, you’re sure to find the Blackberry 9000 as bulky and too broad, but on closer inspection, you’ll notice the rounded edges and silver trim that make the phone eye-catching and sleek. Also the back of the phone has a leather finish which is a nice touch. Its dimensions are 4.5×2.6×0.6inches and it is a little heavy at 142grams but this is overshadowed by an excellent LCD display that is by far the best on a BlackBerry and perhaps any Smartphone available. Its wide at 2.7inches and can display 65000 colours at 480×320 pixels and the display of colours is accurate and striking. Key layout is much the same as on most QWERTY-type BlackBerrys but the BlackBerry 9000 features a well sized set of keys that have a good tactile feel.

The BlackBerry 9000 is the first 3G device from RIM and it is a big boost for anyone who felt limited by EDGE speeds. The speeds are top notch and the device performs admirably. GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 are all available. The BlackBerry 9000 also has the Document to Go application which allows you to edit any Word, Excel or PowerPoint document. The BlackBerry 9000 also supports quad-band roaming and has built in voice cancellation technology. Of course no BlackBerry would be complete without e-mail and push e-mail, instant messaging etc. are all available and easy to configure and use also. The camera is 2.0 megapixels and performs well except during videos when distortion is evident. The media player is fully functional and the stereo speakers on the phone mean music sounds great with or without headphones. The BlackBerry 9000 has 1 GB memory available which you can expand to up to 16 GB through MicroSD cards. Battery life is between 4.3hrs while talking and 10 days on standby.

The BlackBerry 9000 is available in India at most major networks and you can buy it for close to Rs. 32000. The Bold is striking with its dazzling LCD screen, superior software, and wide-ranging multimedia applications and is not just a Smartphone but a more complete phone on the whole.
