Windows Mobile 6 Standard as an operating system, slide out QWERTY keyboard, a standard phone keypad are some of the features make up HTC S710. Now to admit that sliding QWERTY keyboards aren’t new to the Mobile world and to HTC in particular, but HTC S710 is among the first handsets to combine the two in a smart phone. Launched in February, 2007 HTC S710 comes in Black and silver color.

HTC S710 works on 2G network on GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900. Since it works on quad band it is globally operational. So you need not change the phone while travelling abroad. HTC S710 specifications are 101 x 50 x 17.7 mm. HTC S710 weights 120 grams.

Now, you would be pleasantly surprised to see that the device is actually much thinner than what it happens to appear in photos. Although the QWERTY keyboard which is hidden adds a little thickness to the device but the HTC S710 is not much bigger than any other smart phone present in the market.

HTC S710 display is TFT resistive touch screen, 65K colors with a screen resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, 2.4 inches. Moving on to the HTC S710 memory size, it comes with 64 MB RAM and a 128 MB ROM. HTC S710 also comes with an external memory card slot to expand the memory. One of the most striking features of HTC phones is that they can store practically unlimited amount of phone book entries and call records.

HTC S710 has integrated camera of 2 MP, 1600×1200 pixels. There is video recording facility too. HTC mobile phones have always had good quality cameras.

HTC S710 applications include a MP3 player that supports formats like MP3, AAC and AAC+. Now the songs can be heard using head phones or wireless Bluetooth. It comes with a loud speaker facility too. HTC S710 has Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional as the Operating System. Also there is Pocket Office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF viewer.

HTC S710 features include a GPRS with 32-48 kbps speed. HTC S710 has browser is WAP 2.0/xHTML. The Bluetooth is v1.2 with A2DP. HTC S710 has MMS, Email and Instant Messaging facility. HTC S710 has 3G, WAN and EDGE facilities too. Thus it has all the high end features and in true senses a multi media phone. And there is USB connection too.

HTC S710 has a standard battery, Li-Ion Li-Po 1050 mAh. This battery is sufficient enough to keep the phone running for 175 hours along with a talk time of 7 hours. Although the Stand By time is a bit less but the Talk Time is quite sufficient.

HTC S710 costs around Rs. 13700. The phone is worth every penny. With crystal clear screen and a plastic top to protect the actual screen, the phone works as smoothly as if you are working on your home computer. Definitely worth a buy.
