HTC is a world wide pioneer and for long the leader in mobile phone technology. Now they have announced the launch of HTC S740 which happens to be a compact, slim and stylish smart phone. S740 has the traditional 12-key phone design and along with it the sliding QWERTY keyboard. Announced in August, 2008 the HTC S740 is a real beauty an its specifications are as follows.
HTC S740 works on 2G on GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and on 3G network on HSDPA 900 / 2100. S740 is moderate in size weighing 140 grams and having dimensions of 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3 mm. The display screen is TFT with 256 k colors and resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. S740 comes in just one color and that is black. The most eye catching feature of S740 is the keypad design, which apart from being very user friendly is also classy and the sliding qwerty which is almost a trademark on HTC mobile phones.
HTC has never compromised on camera quality and HTC S740 is no exception to it. S740 comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. The HTC S740 comes with a 256 MB RAM as well as 256 MB ROM which help a lot in making the mobile work faster. For high speed data transfer Bluetooth and USB port support is provided. HTC S740 applications include GPRS EDGE and WAN. S740 works on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard as an operating system. HTC S740 comes with Standard Li-Po 1050 mAh battery which provides 400 hours of standby time and upto 6 hours of talktime.

All said and done, one thing is for sure that the HTC S740 is very much improved as compared to the previous S730 and the main appeal of S740 is its slimness as compared to other mobile phones in the market.
