LG B2050 Price-LG B2050 Review

LG is one of the most popular handsets for the CDMA but their control over GSM market is not substantial yet. So LG has been trying to appeal to the GSM crowd with LG B2050. Announced in 2005, LG B2050 works on 2G network on GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900. Its production has been discontinued though.

LG B2050 specifications are 105 x 44 x 15.9 mm. The phone is quite slim and weighs 72g. The buttons are a little small, but they aren’t unusable. The four way navigation pad can sometimes click in the wrong direction while going left or right, but it only takes a few clicks to get used to. The display of LG B2050 is a 128×128 CSTN display with 65K colors. The screen size is 1.5 inches.

LG B2050 has a decent internal memory of 1.4 MB. Thus it can store up to 200 phone book entries with 7 different fields each. B2050 can hold call records of previous 15 dialed, missed and received calls. For a phone of this price range, one cannot expect to have a card slot, so there is no expandable memory.

LG B2050 applications include a GPRS which is of Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 – 48 kbps. There is no Infrared or Bluetooth. But then again, there is no memory for the files that one will exchange using these applications.

LG B2050 features include a Browser WAP 2.0 /xHTML. It also has EMS and MMS facility. LG B2050 is priced at Rs. 3900.

The battery life of the LG B2050′s 3.7V, 780 mAh Li-Ion cell is quoted at around 2 hours Talk Time and 200 hours Stand-By. Thus the battery life is good and quite acceptable for a phone in this price range.

So, all in all, it has all the features to be your first phone. With its down to earth cost and being equipped with all the basic features, LG B2050 is a great buy.
