Announced in November of 2004 Nokia 3230 is a Symbian Series 60 Smart Phone.  Unlike its predecessors Nokia 3230 was kept at a reasonable price thus appealing more towards the Indian masses. It gave the common man a chance to own a high piece of equipment for a very nominal fee.

Nokia 3230 works on 2G network on GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 and has a size of 176 x 208 pixels, 2.1 inches, 35 x 41 mm. it has dimensions of 109 x 49 x 19 mm and weighs 110 g. It provides its users with an easy five way navigation key. One can customize the looks of his/her Nokia 3230 by downloading wallpapers and screensavers.

Nokia 3230 allows practically unlimited phone book entries and also supports photo calling feature. It shows call record details for the last 30 days and has an internal memory of 6 MB. It also has an additional RS-MMC Card Slot which has a 32 MB card included during the time of purchase. It has support for GPRS technology but does not provide support for HSCSD, 3G and WLAN technology. One can make use of the Bluetooth or Infrared port provided for connecting to other mobile devices in addition to the USB port which is used to connect to other computer devices.

It has a 1.23 MP, 1280×960 pixels camera and also allows Video Calling. It uses a Symbian OS v7.0s, Series 60 SE UI OS and runs on TI OMAP 1510 123 MHz processor. For browsing purposes the phone is equipped with   WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML browser. It is available in the Indian market in two colors Black and Red.

Nokia 3230 is also equipped with applications and software such as Push to Talk, Mono MP3 player, T9 technology, Organizer and Voice dial/memo. It uses a Standard, Li-Ion 760 mAh (BL-5B) which has a standby time of 150 hours and talk time of up to 4 hours.

In all at a market price of Rs 6750, Nokia 3230 in India is a phone equipped with an impressive list of features and still labeled at a reasonable price which can afforded by everyone.
