Announced in September of 2006 Nokia 5200 comes under the Series 40 mobile phones developed by Nokia. Although not as publicized as its counterpart Nokia 5300, Nokia 5200 was built to target lower end consumers by providing them with a phone with a good and essential list of features at a low price.
It works on 2G network on GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900. Nokia 5200 has dimensions of 92.4 x 48.2 x 20.7 mm and weighs around 104 g. Not the sleekest looking mobile it has more of a muscular feel to it. It has an internal memory of 5 MB and comes with a microSD card slot which can be expanded up to 2 GB. One can download polyphonic and MP3 tones for customizing their various alerts on the phone.
Nokia 5200 has GPRS and HSCSD technology but does not have support for 3G or WLAN. For connecting to other mobile devices users can make use of either the Infrared Port or Bluetooth present in Nokia 5200. It also has a USB port for connecting to any other USB enabled devices.
Nokia 5200 has a VGA, 640×480 pixels camera and does not support video calling. Nokia has provided WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML browsers for surfing the internet through the mobile device itself. It also has a Stereo FM Radio. It does not provide GPS support and comes in two basic colors, Red and Blue. Nokia 5200 comes equipped with applications and software such as MP3/SpMidi/AAC/AAC+ player, T9 technology for messaging purposes, Reminders and Stopwatch.
Nokia 5200 uses a Li-Ion 760 mAh (BL-5B) Standard battery which has a stand by time of 263 hours and talk time of 3 hours 10 minutes. Nokia 5200 comes at an affordable price of Rs 4900 and in spite of the low price it still provides enough content to keep the consumers happy and satisfied with the mobile phone.
