Nokia 6085 was announced in the Indian market on September of 2006. It works on 2G Network on GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900. It has dimensions of 92 x 46 x 23 mm and weighs 84 g. Nokia 6085 is a CSTN type and has a second external memo display of size 96 x 68 pixels. One can customize the looks of the phone by choosing from the list of themes and wallpapers provided in Nokia 6085.
The various alert tones can be customized as well by choosing any polyphonic, MP3, AAC ringtones. It has speaker phone facility as well. Nokia 6085 has a phone book capacity of 500 x 10 fields and also supports picture calling. It can store the last 20 dialed numbers, missed calls and received calls. It has an internal memory of 4 MB and an additional micorSD card slot which can equipped with a maximum memory of 2 GB.
It supports GPRS technology but does not provide support for HSCSD, 3G and WLAN technology. To connect to other mobile devices Nokia 6085 has Bluetooth technology but no Infrared Port. It also has a USB port for connecting to various computer devices. Nokia 6085 has a VGA, 640×480 pixels camera which has video support. For browsing the internet the phone uses WAP 2.0/xHTML browser. It also has FM Radio and Visual Radio.
Nokia 6085 does not provide GPS service but comes equipped with a number of applications and software such as Push to talk, MP3/MP4/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+/WMA player, T9 technology, Organizer, Presence enhanced contacts and Voice dial/memo. It uses Li-Ion 970 mAh (BL-5C) Standard battery which has a standby time of 240 hours and talk time of 5 hours.
Overall at a price of Rs 4500, the Nokia 6085 is not a bad buy but in today’s Indian market one can own a phone with more features than what Nokia 6085 provides at a lower rate.
