Nokia 6630 which is a 3G enabled smartphone and nicknamed as “Charlie” was launched by Nokia in 2004.It is considered as an evolved version of Nokia 6620 and 6600.Beautifully designed Nokia 6630 is considered as the first ever phone to allow global roaming in true sense. All the other phones died in Japan except Nokia 6630 which used WCDMA network and allowed unlimited connectivity.
Nokia 6630 supports 2g networks of GSM of range 900, 1800 and 1900 as well as 3g network of UMTS of range 2100.It is a slightly heavy phone weighing 127grams and dimension of 110X60X21 mm.
Nokia 6630 comes with a TFT display of 65k colors and resolution 176X208pixels.The screen is 2.1inches and 35X41mm.The keypad offered by Nokia’s 6630 is stylishly designed and is also very user-friendly.
Multimedia support provided with Nokia 6630 includes a high resolution digital camera of 1.3 megapixel which offers one hour of video capture. It also offers downloading of high quality video and audio. Nokia 6630 also offers real time streaming of video using the 3g network support. For video editing it offers various soft wares like Nokia video editor and movie director. For music lovers stereo headsets are provided for enjoying MP3 songs. On purchase Nokia6630 comes with internal memory of 10MB which can be expanded to about 64MB using a memory card. For high speed data transfer Bluetooth as well as USB support is provided by the phone. For internet applications GPRS and EDGE technology is supported .Nokia 6630 also allows 3G network with a speed of about 384kbps. The operating system used in the phone is Symbian S60 which is 8.0 version of Symbian series. The battery used is Li-Ion BL-5C 3.7V, 900mAh which provides user with a standby time of 264 hours and talk time of 180mins.
Nokia 6630 is offered in Indian markets at a very reasonable price of Rs. 12000.The amount of features provided by this phone are better than the price at which it is offered so it is preferred in Indian markets. Beautiful curvy body, high end features, good battery life and reasonable cost has made 6630 a hit in Nokia’s smartphone collections.
