The SAGEM MY501C comes in a classic clamshell design with smooth edges and a simple colour scheme with looks great to the eyes. It’s divided into a variety of shades of matte grey and reflective silver.

The front side of the Sagem MY501C features a 1.3-megapixel camera at the top end, which is surrounded by a reflective silver section. Further down there’s a small OLED colour screen in the mid way of the front section that displays the battery life and signal strength, call and message alerts and the time and date respectively. Specifications of the Sagem MY501C are size 93 x 44.6 x 23.6 mm. While the my501c doesn’t have high-spec features like most phones, but still it does have a wide range to choose from.

The Sagem MY501C boasts of some great features; There’s a 1.3-megapixel camera that takes basic pictures and takes video; a music player that plays MP3 and AAC files; an expandable microSD slot so you can save all your pictures and music; Bluetooth connectivity is supported as well so you can use a Bluetooth headset or send files; and GPRS to help you browse the Web using the WAP browser. The menu, which features a basic grid layout, isn’t very exciting, but it is very simple to understand.

Writing SMS text messages is also not complicated and the overall interface works well even if it’s not stylish. One negative point with the my501c interface is that the contacts list is a little slow to find a number when using the search by name function. Other features of the Sagem MY501C include an alarm, a calendar, a timer, memo, notes, a speakerphone, Java games and polyphonic ringtones as well. Battery life is around 3 hours of talk time and 240 hours of standby time. To conclude the Sagem MY501C is an average phone to use with all the basic requirements included and a few other features present for the users.
