The Sagem MYX5-2offers all average set of features like SMS, EMS, MMS, WAP 2.0 and GPRS (Class 10) and Java MIDP 2.0 like most of the other recent handsets. It has an average size 65K color screen, a VGA camera with NO video recording, 3 MB of storage memory (the myX-7 has 4 MB), GPRS/MMS support as well. It also has Infrared and USB connectivity.
The specifications of the Sagem MYX5-2 are 10.6 x 4.6 x 1.9 cm in size and it weighs 97grams. It feels fine to hold and looks very sleek and well-designed. The keypad is actually bliss to use in this handset. The keypad looks good and works great. An ideal balance, I feel. The display is smaller than all usual phones at 3.2 x 3.7cm, but it’s the same standard 120 x 160 pixel resolutions, which makes it look better and even feels better to use. It still doesn’t do complete justice to the 65K color capability – it’s not as sharp as all the Nokia phones available.
One of the features of the Sagem MYX5-2 is a VGA camera (640 x 480 pixels) and lets you take small mobile friendly 120 x 160 pixel pictures also. The camera, in fact, starts quicker than any other handset ever used before. Just click the icon and it takes not more than half a second to really start up. That’s really quick! Unhappily, saving the picture takes a little time. The ringtone loudness is very low. There is no FM tuning as well. There is no video recording/playback support, very sadly. The handset lacks Bluetooth connectivity as well. The myX-5-2 has Java-based games support system. The phone has a decent battery life. It gives around four hours of talktime and 5 days of standby time.
The Sagem MYX5-2 is available for Rs.10000 in India. Overall it is an average phone with out a great set of features but people can choose to buy it for its looks.
