Sony Ericsson Bluetooth and Internet

Bluetooth:

Bluetooth is an open wireless protocol for transferring information within small areas from set and transportable devices. Like in some wired connection LAN (Local Area Network) is established, Bluetooth does PAN i.e. Personal Area Network. The Connect to another device the Bluetooth should be configured as follows:

  1. Press Menu| Panel| Connections| Bluetooth| Settings.
  2. Let Operation Mode to Discoverable.
  3. Specify a custom name for your phone, and then press OK.
  4. Set Receiving items to Always receive.
  5. Press Done.

Internet:-

Internet can be accessed from a Sony Ericsson cell phone only if it either has GPRS or WI-FI connections. The GPRS setting are provided by the service provider of the SIM card company that a person is using. There are three ways in which Internet connection can be obtained via Sony Ericsson mobile which are as follows:

  • USB (LAN/Ethernet Emulation)
  • Dial-up networking
  • Bluetooth (dial-up networking and Bluetooth PAN)

The PC in which the USB internet connection is inserted should have the PC Suite. This allows the connection setting using the GPRS of the Mobile. The Mobile should have GPRS connection from the service provider with the help of which the user can browse the internet in Internet Explorer of a System. The internet will be started only if the phone computer LAN is active, other LAN should be disconnected.

There is a Sony Ericsson Dial Up available if the USB connection is made. This is only if the required Drivers are installed in the PC.

The Bluetooth assistant should be installed in the PC. The various steps for connecting to internet via Bluetooth are as follows:

  • Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant, located in /Applications/Utilities.
  • Pair the phone and the computer.
  • When prompted, choose the selection to Access the Internet with your mobile’s data connection. Select any connection method that is suitable for service.
  • The next screen will ask you for connection setting information. Check with the Service provider for name, password, or other information needs to be entered
  • Finish the Setup Assistant
