Launched way back in November 2005, the Sony Ericsson J230i in India works on 2G network on GSM 900/1800. The Sony Ericsson J230i has specifications of 102 x 44 x 18 mm, which means that it is quite the size of an average phone of this class of mobile phones. Weighing just 84 grams, it is quite light. The display screen has a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. The screen can accommodate up to five short message lines at the same time. It comes with the feature of downloadable polyphonic ringtones. Although the Sony Ericsson J230i has limited features but never the less it comes with a loud speaker facility.

Sony Ericsson J230i mobile phone can store up to 50 short messages. Now this is not good enough for those who love forwarding messages to friends and loved ones all the time and feel irritated when they run out of good forwards. The phone book can store up to 500 entries and each entry comes with five sub fields. It has an internal memory of 500KB. Along with this, J230i can store up to 10 dialed numbers as well as 20 received and missed calls.

Sony Ericsson J230icomes with a FM radio. So its not that bad in the entertainment segment only thing, you have to listen to the RJ’s playlist instead of your own. It does not have an Infrared port or a Bluetooth. Anyways with such low internal memory one cannot share big sized files that Bluetooth supports. But it has GPRS and can handle speeds up to 32-40 kbps. It has WAP 1.2 for browsing.

It has a standard battery, Li-Ion Li-Ion 900 mAh (BST-37). It has a Stand-by time up to 280 hours and a Talk time of 6 hours. The Sony Ericsson J230ihas applications in the form of a few games like a couple of Java games. It comes in Cosmo White, Cherry Red and Deep Blue colors. The manufactures have given J230i a sophisticated look.

This production of the Sony Ericsson J230iphone has now being discontinued and you may not find it in a Sony Ericsson gallery. But if you are lucky enough you can lay your hands on it in some other mobile retail shops. This phone has stood the test of time and there are many have been using it for over three to four years without experiencing problems.
